About your opportunity

The Podiatrist role will deliver a High-Risk foot service based on current Best Practice Guidelines to consumers of Queensland Health, including those with chronic disease and ‘acute and high-risk feet'.  This will include, but is not limited to those with amputations, foot ulcerations, peripheral neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease and gross foot deformities.  

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated clinical skills, knowledge and expertise in podiatry services.
  • Communication: Demonstrated abilities to provide clinical advice related to podiatry service delivery to senior managers and other stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated abilities to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve best patient outcomes.
  • Clinical Ability: Demonstrated knowledge and abilities to apply evidence based principles to facilitate novel and complex clinical decisions concerning podiatry interventions.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated level ability to apply strategic and daily operational directions to the development of professional standards on a local Hospital and Health Service and State-wide basis.
  • Self-Management: Demonstrated abilities to prioritise and manage own clinical and non-clinical responsibilities.

Other requirments

  • The successful applicant must hold a tertiary qualification in Podiatry and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Podiatry Board of Australia).
  • Aged Care Pre-Employment Screening: Applicants are advised this position works in an identified Aged Care Facility as per the Aged Care Act 1997 and therefore requires employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above National Police Certificate. 
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropiate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • This position may be required to work on weekends and public holidays on a rostered basis.

Generous remuneration package value up to $132,730 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range of $76,747 to $116,332 p.a. (HP3)
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.
