The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Practitioner (Oncology)

to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

  • Plan, provide, support and coordinate care to Medical Oncology patients and their carers
  • Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and education to workers within the health system and broader community
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop, implement, evaluate and refine models of care that reflect the key navigation principles
  • Maintain enrolment and complete requirements of a course leading to credentialing as a Nurse Practitioner

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $149 259 - $155 831 per annum

About Us

Medical Oncology provides services to adults with solid malignancies, treating patients in the palliative and curative setting. The service comprises outpatient clinics, ambulatory treatments, inpatient care, and provides clinical trial involvement. The new service, Cancer Urgent Assessment Clinic (CUAC), will bridge the gap between outpatient and inpatient care, providing ad hoc assessment and management for oncology patients with (sub)acute presentations.
