About us:

Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital in Central Queensland. The Maternity Service at Rockhampton Hospital is the main birthing hub for Central Queensland and caters for approximately 1500 births annually. It provides a level 4 maternity service: The Antenatal Clinic offers outpatient antenatal care and education; the Antenatal/Postnatal 15 bed ward offers inpatient care and maternity assessment unit; the five bed Birth Suite offers care during birth and high dependency care; and the level 4 Special Care Nursery offers medium to high dependency care to neonates.

About the role:

The Clinical Nurse/Midwife (Diabetes Education) applies advanced communication, problem solving, and evidence based clinical skills and knowledge of gestational diabetes, type 1, and type 2 diabetes in the delivery of diabetes education and clinical self-management to individuals and groups in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.

• Broad knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, expressing key actions to achieve and sustain these care standards.
• Advanced clinical evidence-based skill and knowledge and interdisciplinary care and management of gestational, type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
• Commitment to professional development of self and others, identify strategy and experiences that evidence this.

Total remuneration value of up to $69,420 p.a. is comprised of:

• A hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
