The role 

Reporting to the Senior Director Infrastructure Investment Development, you will lead the investment co-ordination and commercial advisory function of the Strategy and Commercial branch within the Health Capital Division. You will lead the provision of expert commercial advice to senior executives on private sector partnerships and investment opportunities that deliver enhanced value from programs and projects and support place-based precinct strategies. 

You will work collaboratively across Health Capital Division, in partnership with Health and Hospital Services to guide or pursue governance endorsed partnership opportunities from initiation to negotiating commercial terms, drawing on legal and commercial advisory expertise as required. This will include working with key stakeholders to define upfront client requirements and assess project maturity ahead of project initiation.

You will be responsible for establishing and deploying appropriate governance and assurance frameworks providing regular reporting to internal committees on the status of partnership opportunities including key risks, issues and recommended actions. In monitoring and driving the commercial performance through strategic partnerships, you will also need to maintain a focus on enabling innovation and mitigating emerging risks.

You will work under the guidance of the Senior Director Infrastructure Investment Development providing input into briefings, submissions, correspondence and status reports to the Minister and Health Capital executives as required.

The successful person

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate commercial acumen in providing advice on commercial transactions for major infrastructure programs. They will need to demonstrate their ability to actively drive and contribute to the achievement of significant project deliverables in a dynamic and complex environment.

The successful candidate will apply leadership, critical thinking and subject matter expertise in the resolution of complex organisational, policy, legislative and project issues and risks to ensure alignment to government objectives, mandates and leverage whole government opportunities to improve quality and commercial outcomes in relation to the identification of potential investment opportunities for the capital program.

In this role you will be required to undertake duties as directed by the Senior Director Infrastructure Investment Development as required to support the objectives of Health Capital Division and the success of the Queensland Health Capital Program as well as work closely and collaboratively with others across all branches of the Division.
