The role  
The Correspondence Officer is pivotal in ensuring adherence to service quality standards and health and safety protocols, meticulously preparing and editing correspondence to provide accurate, timely, and relevant information in accordance with departmental guidelines. With a focus on managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, the Officer maintains an effective records management system to implement efficient workflows and tracking, ensuring seamless operations within the branch. 

Collaborating closely with senior management and officers, the Officer liaises, negotiates, and consults to ensure timely completion of correspondence within agreed-upon processes and standards. Thriving in a dynamic, time-critical environment, the Officer serves as an effective team member, contributing to business improvement activities and other administrative duties as necessary, all while upholding Queensland Health's core values and fostering a culture of excellence and professionalism.

The successful person
To excel in this position, candidates should highlight previous experience in managing both incoming and outgoing correspondence, encompassing tasks such as proofreading, formatting, editing, and ensuring quality standards are upheld. Alternatively, proficiency in adhering to defined processes with a focus on task prioritization and maintaining high-quality outcomes is essential. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities, are crucial for effective interaction with personnel across all levels.

Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate adept time management abilities, enabling them to effectively balance autonomous work with collaborative team efforts. Prioritization of tasks, achievement of desired outcomes, and adherence to deadlines are key components of success in this role. The Branch provides public health information systems used across Queensland Health. PHI plays a key role in state-wide surveillance, monitoring and reporting for public health, within both Queensland and Federal Governments.

PHI's goal is to grow capacity and capability to deliver intelligence, insights, and evidence to inform public health strategy, policy, and practice, to drive quality improvement and monitor public health performance for better decision making.
