The Position
An opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Staff Specialist, Staff Specialist, or Senior Medical Officer in Palliative Care to join a Cancer Care Services Team. You will provide palliative care service within the facility, covering the spectrum of cancer and non-cancer palliative care referrals across integrated inpatient, outpatient, consultation and community arms.
  • Competitive remuneration package of up to $461,256 per annum, including salary, motor vehicle allowance, professional development opportunities, indemnity cover, and private practice arrangements.

  • This is a permanent full-time role with 80 hours per fortnight.
The Location
Located along the Coral Coast region, this area is a delightful fusion of coastal and rural landscapes, just a four-hour drive north of Brisbane. The Facility
Over the past few years, the hospital has undergone a significant redevelopment, exceeding $50 million. This transformation has introduced new beds, enhanced services within the rehabilitation unit, and added a new emergency department, maternity unit, and special care nursery. The hospital now offers a wide range of services, including intensive care, coronary care, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, 24-hour emergency medicine, pharmacy, medical imaging, pathology, and comprehensive mental health services. Additionally, allied health services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech therapy, psychology, and social work are also available.

The Requirements
  • MBBS or Equivalent
  • General and Specialist registration with AHPRA
  • Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with specialized skills, knowledge and clinical competence in the area of palliative care are mandatory and should hold an FRACP in Palliative Medicine.
