The Role
The Registrar/Principal House Officer works alongside Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff to manage patients with acute and urgent illness or injury. Responsibilities include participating in case conferences and family meetings, as well as seeing referral patients in acute wards. If the Residential Transition Care program is active, duties may include weekly offsite visits to review patients, completing admission and progress notes, and writing discharge summaries and prescriptions for discharged patients.

The Location


The Facility 

The Rehabilitation Unit features 16 in-patient beds, 15 day therapy slots, and a dedicated clinic area for amputee services and post-rehabilitation follow-up. The unit commonly deals with cases such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic, cardio-respiratory, renal, musculoskeletal, amputee, spinal injury, and re-conditioning following medical or surgical illness.

The Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Sound knowledge and clinical skills and experience at PGY 4 level or above.
