About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate xpert knowledge of the relevant confidentiality requirements of the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 and the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) to assist the Privacy and Confidentiality Contact Officer (PCCO) for the CHHHS and educate CHHHS personnel.
  • Demonstrate high level verbal and written communication skills to enable effective interaction in relation to the provision of access to information to patients, solicitors and other legal representatives and other members of the public where diplomacy, integrity, tact and discretion is required.
  • Demonstrate high level interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction and liaison with all levels of medical, nursing, allied health, and administrative staff from CHHHS and its hospitals and community facilities, Government Departments, including the Office of the Information Commissioner (Qld) and other private facilities in relation to access to information through RTI/IP and other legislative mechanisms.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will be responsible for providing high level support to facilitate service delivery within all streams of the Information Access Unit. The Senior Release of Information Officer is the delegated back-up decision maker under the Right to Information Act 2009 (the RTI Act) and the Information Privacy Act 2009 (the IP Act).

About your role:

  • Undertake the duties and responsibilities of the Back-up Delegated Right to Information and Information Privacy Decision-Maker for the CHHHS.
  • Provide a contact point at a high level of liaison with senior officers of CHHHS and other Government agencies including but not limited to Queensland Health, the Health Ombudsman, the Queensland Police Service and the Department of Child Safety.
  • Ensure the maintenance of up-to-date databases of all applications and requests for access to information received by the CHHHS in order to provide accurate data to CHHH Board and the Department of Justice and Attorney General for their monthly and annual reports.
