About the role

The Clinical Midwife is a registered midwife who provides excellence in midwifery care and patient outcomes by providing direct midwifery care with clinical competence and capability, optimising the perinatal journey of women and their families and enabling woman centred care with enhanced access to services. The clinical midwife works in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide woman and family centred, quality, safe patient care.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of early pregnancy care <20 weeks   delivering expert midwifery care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based midwifery care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards which impact on midwifery practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive workplace culture through role-modelling well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, engaging professionally with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
  • Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
  • Pro-actively manages own continuous learning and development.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in the multidisciplinary team to identify areas for improvement in work practices and outcomes and contribute to the continued improvement of policies and procedures.
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to prioritise clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and manage delegated resources including prioritising needs and supporting day-to-day changes.
  • Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
  • Demonstrates culturally safe, advanced level midwifery support and care to women of a Refugee background.

Mandatory Requirements:
