The role 
Reporting to the Senior Director Contracts & Procurement, the Director, Procurement Policy & Industry Engagement position will provide leadership within operations and the industry engagement program. This role is responsible for providing strategic policy guidance to the wider procurement teams and delivery areas and is charged with ensuring HCDs Procurement policies and processes are best practice. Under the direction from executive and senior leaders, this position leads multiple projects and is responsible for the liaison with external bodies such as DEPW. 

The successful person
To be successful in the role you will have and or demonstrate: 
•    Specialist skills and experience in Procurement and have led small teams, ideally in a Construction, Capital and/or Health Environment.
•    Capability of providing expert, succinct advice to the delivery teams and wider procurement function.
•    Initiative be responsible for driving strategy and improvements to processes. 
•    Demonstrated leadership of a small team and ability to set task independently. 
•    Confidence working in a fast paced and evolving work environment.

The Procurement Strategy and Contract branch for Health Capital Division is part of the Operations division. The branch consists of two streams, each headed by a Director. This Director role is responsible for the ‘Policy' or strategy arm of the Branch and takes leadership over ensuring procurement processes are in line with best practice. The other arm is the ‘Delivery' arm, responsible for managing the procurement processes and advice with the Delivery areas of HCD.
