About this roleYou'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.
This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a highly-motivated and close-knit team, regularly working with varied subject matter experts to deliver Executive advice on a broad range of public and population health priorities.
The Policy Officer will work in a team to support the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Secretary of Population and Public Health with a range of priority activities. This will include development of advice such as briefs and correspondence, day-to-day project management, co-ordinating webinars with key Ministry stakeholders, secretariat support for NSW Health representation at local and national committees, and working with various subject matter experts to respond to emerging issues.
Crown Clerk 7/8 , starting salary from $106,025 - $117,363 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

What you'll be doingPreparing written advice such as briefs, correspondence, submissions, policy documents, reports and discussion papersAssisting in the development, monitoring and reporting of strategic, operational and project plansCollaborating with internal and external stakeholders and synthesising evidence and research to support informed decision-making and planning
About youThis role will suit a motivated individual who is equally comfortable taking initiative and proactively managing their own workload, as they are collaborating and communicating with partners across the organisation.Being able to carry out competing projects within tight timeframes, and communicating effectively to manage priorities within the close-knit team is essential for this position.Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the provision of high-level quality advice within the health system.Candidates must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the machinery of Government and NSW Health.Candidates must hold relevant tertiary qualifications and /or have demonstrated relevant, equivalent professional experience.
