The Top End region offers a year-round tropical experience, and the Central Australia region will welcome you with sunny skies, both providing a unique and relaxed outdoor lifestyle that offers you and your families with a plethora of camping, fishing, markets, events, arts and culture and sporting opportunities.

Based out of our Darwin and Alice Springs offices, you will have the ability to work across metropolitan, rural and remote regions spanning over 1.42 million km² and servicing a population of approximately 252,500 people. Whether you’re working out of a 4WD or catching a plane, your office backdrop may become some of the most spectacular and beautiful remote locations of Northern Australia.

Our multicultural community consists of a blend of people from diverse backgrounds and our First Nations people who are one of the oldest continuing cultures in the world. Living and working in the Northern Territory puts you right on the doorstep of Southeast Asia and provides the opportunity to explore some of the most iconic remote parts of Australia, such as Kakadu National Park, Tiwi Islands, MacDonnell Ranges, and Uluru.

Environmental Health’s vision is to promote healthy living environments, communities, and lifestyles for all Territorians, with a focus on improving the social determinants of health by partnering with aboriginal communities, providing community engagement and education, provision of food security and public health advice.

The role will be responsible for the delivery of environmental health services, administration of environmental health legislation, risk assessment, compliance and enforcement actions, community development, outbreak investigations and emergency management. We are seeking applicants that hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in environmental health or equivalent, and who demonstrate excellent customer service, communication and relationship building skills.

Support is provided with relocation to the Northern Territory, 6 weeks annual leave, a professional and supportive work environment, access flexible working arrangements, ability to access professional development and a broad scope of environmental health operational activities.
