We have an Opportunity to join our Perioperative Leadership team at Gold Coast Private Hospital.

We are seeking a highly passionate and engaging Nurse Unit Manager to join our Perioperative team; overseeing our PACU department on a full time, permanent basis.

Established in 2016 Gold Coast Private Hospital is a 339 bed, 22 operating theatre facility located in Southport, the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct. Specialities include and are not limited to: 24/7 Emergency Care Centre, Medical, Orthopaedic, Bariatric, Neurosurgical, Plastics, ENT & General Surgical, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Cardiac Care and Oncology. As a Nurse Unit Manager your responsibilities will include:

· Provide leadership and direction to the department to complement the strategic direction, operational processes, budget and business direction of the hospital

· Provide operational direction for the PACU department to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of the nursing care that is evidence based

· Be accountable and responsible for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure the customer service is maintained at optimal levels

· Undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of nursing team

· Work as part of the healthcare team, adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures and key performance indicators

· Participate in working parties/committees and demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvements through NSQHS, workplace health and safety and achievement of hospital accreditation

· Current Registration with AHPRA

· Extensive Recovery Nursing experience

· Post Graduate qualification in Recovery or Critical Care nursing (or working towards)

· Experience in managing a similar department (including acting/deputising a manager role)

· Compliance with ACSQHC National standards

· A strong commitment to developing in a management role

· Computer literacy including MS office and various data bases

· Ability to work cohesively within a team environment

· Proven time management and prioritisation skills

· Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management

· Demonstrated HR management experience
