The Role

An opportunity has become available for multiple Provisional Fellows (Anaesthetics) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide anaesthetic care for patients undergoing anaesthetics or sedation at Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital and Varsity Lakes Day Hospital
  • Establish anaesthetic management plans for patients in consultation with consultants
  • Provide preoperative assessment of surgical patients which may involve consultation with surgeons and physicians
  • Provide consultative services to hospital medical staff concerning anaesthetic and perioperative problems such as analgesia and fluid management
  • Available for urgent consultation and assistance in resuscitation of critically ill patients, for those about to undergo emergency surgery

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Be a registered trainee with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and be eligible to commence training as a Provisional Fellow
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time (12 positions, up to 12 months, with possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $125 808 - $145 865 per annum
