The Better Health NQ team is seeking applications for a Program Support Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. This position can be based in Mackay or Cairns.

Your opportunity

  • The Program Support Officer will work closely with the Senior Director Better Health NQ and be responsible for providing high level administrative, communication and business and project support to Better Health NQ.
  • The position will support the management and implementation of the Better Health NQ priorities and associated workstreams and other support activities as required.
  • The role requires the ability to work in a fluid environment with a high level of autonomy.

About the Team

  • Better Health NQ is a collaboration between the five north Queensland Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) – Mackay HHS, Townsville HHS, Cairns & Hinterland HHS, Torres & Cape HHS, North West HHS, and Northern Queensland PHN. Better Health NQ vision is to achieve equity in access to health services and health outcomes for all North Queenslanders.
  • The role of Better Health NQ is to focus on advocacy for the region informed by data and intelligence, and the oversight of funded regional projects.
  • Central to this function is stakeholder communication and engagement.
  • The Better Health NQ team is small with most interactions occurring with stakeholders as part of a virtual team across North Queensland.
