About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills and abilities in hospital pharmacy and medication management including practices relevant to receipt, handling, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, inventory management and dispensing of pharmaceutical products.
  • Demonstrate ability to provide and deliver a defined range of Pharmacy Assistant activities within scope of practice under the supervision of a pharmacist and to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and teamwork acumen to provide guidance and support to less experienced staff through high level communication and interpersonal skills.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will contribute to patient care by assisting in the provision of a safe and effective pharmacy services under the direct or indirect supervision of a pharmacist, which support the delivery of an efficient and effective pharmaceutical service to Cairns hospital.
This role will work as an integral member of the clinical services team to support the delivery of quality and safe medications management.

About your role:

  • Provide a defined range of pharmacy services for patients with complex conditions under the delegation and guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team, in a non-clinical capacity, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist conforming to current legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Refer to and liaise with health care providers within the immediate team as well as community health providers such as community pharmacists and general practitioners, under the delegation of a pharmacist.
