The role will require the development of training material across a variety of delivery modes, including face-to-face, online, and blended delivery.  Lead in the development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of systems to facilitate cost effective training outcomes across all disciplines in Pathology Queensland. 

Exhibit and promote policies, regulations, standards, and procedures that impact upon the position including, Queensland Health Code of Conduct, contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination policy. 

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrate a high level of educator knowledge, expertise, and skill in a pathology setting that will encourage continual learning and professional development in staff at all levels.
  • High level interpersonal skills including presentation and communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team without direct supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of the major disciplines of medical laboratory science, and the demonstrated ability to gain competence is other areas of the profession.
  • Competence in the basic design and development of online training resources and the ability to gain advanced abilities in the production of online training programs.
  • Competence in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training built on adult learning principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
  • Ability to assist in the development of partnerships with Registered Training Organisations to deliver appropriate nationally accredited qualifications for Clinical Assistants and Operational Officers throughout Pathology Queensland.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

  • A Certificate IV in Training and Education (TAE) or other education qualification would be highly desirable.
  • Current or past membership of Toastmasters or Rostrum Australia or other public presentation organisation will be highly regarded.
