The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide provision of care delivery in a variety of hospital and community settings
  • Apply professional knowledge and skills in clinical decision making under the practice supervision
  • Contribute to the clinical education of students and other less experienced staff in consultation with the support of senior clinical staff
  • Provide comprehensive care to consumers with an acute mental health issue

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialing through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Permanent full time
  • Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum

About Us

The Acute Care Treatment Team provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist mental health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact providing education, support, information, advice and referral. The Acute Care Treatment Team continuous roster operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
