OVERVIEW

Based out of the Bedford Manor Assisted Living Complex in Kamloops, BC, the RN Contractor would assist with specific tasks and duties relating to training, development and licensing.

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

• Reports and is accountable to the Assisted Living Manager or their designate
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, residents and Health Authority Care Team
• Liaises with the staff and managers of Connective as necessary.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Review of Delegated activities sent by Interior Health Authority for resident care living in the complex.
• Educate Health Care Aides delegated restricted activities and ensure compliance and competency is met through training and performing the task
• Medication DORA (DOT) training for staff specific to each resident
• Advanced clinical case support as required
• Perform other related duties as required

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Respond to periodic clinical case management and medication calls from the AL site both during the day and after hours.
• Respond to Delegated Task requests through phone oversight, as well as onsite training.
• Training to be provided for staff can be scheduled in accordance with the RN availability in conjunction with staff schedule availability.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
• Experience in home health process and an understanding of Assisted Living sites and legislation is an asset

• Criminal Records Checks
• Emergency First Aid
• Complete immunization history
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
• Recent TB skin test results

COMPENSATION:
Hiring rate is $75/hr
