Safety Coordinator

Safety Coordinator- Hourly Seasonal Field Position

The Fath Group is currently seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator-Seasonal Field Position to join our safety team. The SafetyCoordinatormust be able to align with the company’s core purpose and core values. Core Purpose: Building positive change in our communities; Core Values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect. This is an hourly seasonal full-time position based at our head office, located in the West end of Edmonton. As the successful candidate, you will report to the Manager Occupational Health & Safety and will be required to perform the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate all incidents and near misses; review and complete documentation, identify and recommend corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assist with clear delivery of orientations and submit documentation to SiteDocs.
  • Performing job hazard analysis and risk assessments in a competent manner.
  • Support company Alcohol and Drug program.
  • Prepare site safety and emergency response plans.
  • Perform job site safety compliance inspections.
  • Review and coach on field level hazard analysis.
  • Ensure safe work practices, procedures and policies are readily available and followed at our work sites.
  • Submit written reports and recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on adherence to company safety program by all employees and subcontractors.
  • Provide guidance to field personnel via safety briefings, field tours and task observations.
  • Participate with HSE team regarding safety, technical and operations support on various OH&S initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Conduct OH&S training for various workgroups.
  • Participate in the review and analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified OH&S programs.
  • Perform additional assignments per management's direction.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OH&S Code, Act and Regulations.is required.
  • National Construction Safety Officer Designation (NCSO) is required.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in OH&S is required.
  • Incident and injury investigations and injury case management experience required.
  • Hazard Analysis and Identification experience is required
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and communication skills (verbal, written and visual Presentation).
  • Must be proficient in presentation, database, office software and google suite of applications.
  • Must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks and projects as needed.
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with high attention to detail.
  • Must be able to provide an acceptable driver’s abstract and site access drug and alcohol test results.
