Your opportunity
The role of Advanced Health Worker (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) will function within the interprofessional team to enhance the delivery of respectful and culturally appropriate care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, as well as their carers and families. Care extends to the family's local community, kinship system and to primary care teams. Additionally, the role functions at a service level to lead service improvement, cross-cultural education, sharing of knowledge and mentorship to strengthen delivery of culturally responsive, holistic and well-coordinated care to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The very nature of what we do and who we are is the real opportunity. Providing health care support in the bush is full of challenges, however, it remains the most rewarding of human experiences.
If you are looking for a sea change, you might find your home away from home in the outback town of Cunnamulla. Surfing the sand dunes, relaxing in the artesian springs nearby, having a mudbath at Eulo, exploring national parks and fishing the Warrego river are all on the agenda in this red dirt outback escape.
