Fixed Term Temporary full-time role for up to 11 months.

This role will develop, implement and manage the North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) consumer engagement framework ensuring it reflects the National Standard requirements.

  • base salary ranges between $3928.50 to $4274.40 p.f. (AO3).
  • 4 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer super contribution

Role requirements

  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant.
  • VPD risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, Tuberculosis and COVID-19.
  • A 3-month period of probation may apply.

The North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS) covers an area of over 300,000 square kilometres and services the remote communities within North Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria.  The Health Service includes the City of Mount Isa and the towns and areas of Burketown, Camooweal, Cloncurry, Dajarra, Doomadgee, Julia Creek, Karumba, Mornington Island and Normanton. The total population of the Health Service is 33,868 with 60% living in the city of Mount Isa.

Are you suitable? The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate

  • high level communication skills
  • experience in the investigation of complex issues using high level analytical problem solving skills
  • knowledge and expertise in complaints management processes and related legislation, policies and procedures
  • high level organisational ability to set priorities, achieve results, work autonomously, meet deadlines and participate / collaborate with a highly functional outcome focused team

Other requirements - The incumbent may be required to travel in this position by road, air or sea and drive Queensland Health vehicles to meet operational requirements of the position. Employees should also be aware that working in a remote location at times requires them to drive on unsealed roads in 4WD vehicles. Occasional travel within the Health Service, Area or State will be necessary to fulfil the role including obligations to complete training or participate in networks.
