About the role

  • This position is to play a key role in the delivery of a high quality geriatric and general medicine service within The Prince Charles Hospital. There is scope to develop new models of care as part of this role.
  • The successful applicant will participate, if requested, in the provision of services in Clinical Service Networks (CSNs) within the Metro North Hospital and Health Service (HHS). Active participation in clinical teaching, research activities and quality assurance is also required.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following within the context of the “key accountabilities” found in the role description:

  • The successful applicant must have Scope of Clinical Practice (SoCP) awarded by a Metro North Hospital and Health Service Credentialing and SoCP committee. Information presented for application will be presented to the committee during the selection process, and all appointments are subject to maintenance of SoCP for the facilities in which clinical work is to be undertaken. This process must be completed prior to commencement.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration as a dual trained General Physician and Geriatrician with the Medical Board of Australia (or working towards this). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties (mandatory).

While not mandatory, a research degree and / or post graduate doctorate (PhD) would be desirable
