About the opportunity
As part of the Victorian Mental Health reforms, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals program has been established to provide integrated clinical care, and wellbeing support to participants and their family members and/or carers.
Latrobe Regional Health, Wellways and Gippsland Lakes Complete Health will be working together to provide an easy way to access care and support for people aged 26 years and over, who are experiencing mental health concerns – including people with co-occurring alcohol and drug support and care needs and their family, carers, and supporters.
This is a new way of doing things and creates an amazing opportunity to drive much-needed mental health improvements for our communities.
Mental Health and Wellbeing Locals program is free, voluntary, and easy to access, with no referral required. Importantly, these new services will be delivered on the basis of ‘how can we help? and a ‘no wrong door’ approach, focused on giving choice and control over how the participant wants to receive support.
About the role
The Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, employed by Latrobe Regional Health, will be responsible for the delivery of advanced practice in mental health nursing, contribute to research, education and leadership to the East Gippsland’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Service.
This role will provide high-quality evidence-based care and play an integral role in changing and shaping the way mental health and wellbeing services and supports are delivered to the East Gippsland community.
