    Position Overview:
    Join our dynamic team at [Hospital Name], a leading public hospital committed to providing exceptional mental health services to our community. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across various settings within the hospital. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of individuals facing mental health challenges and to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

    Key Responsibilities:
    1. Clinical Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments to diagnose mental health conditions and develop individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based psychiatric treatment, including medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions, to patients across the lifespan.
    2. Inpatient Care: Provide psychiatric care to patients admitted to our inpatient psychiatric unit. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support for patients during their hospital stay. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and participate in discharge planning.
    3. Outpatient Services: Offer outpatient psychiatric services, including consultations, follow-up appointments, and crisis intervention, to individuals referred from primary care providers, emergency departments, and community mental health agencies. Provide ongoing psychiatric care and support to patients in managing their mental health conditions.
    4. Community Liaison: Collaborate with community mental health agencies, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless transitions of care for patients transitioning between hospital and community settings. Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and contribute to care coordination efforts.
    5. Education and Training: Contribute to the education and training of medical students, psychiatric residents, and other healthcare professionals. Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff, including psychiatric residents and allied health professionals, to support their professional development and enhance the quality of mental health care delivery.

    Requirements:
    • Candidates must hold specialist registration with AHPRA in Psychiatry (FRANZCP). 
    • Candidates who hold the UK CCST will also be considered. NZ Consultants Apply Now.
