*We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses to join the High Dependency Unit at Kalgoorlie Health Campus.*
*This is for Permanent Full-Time, Permanent Part time, Fixed Term Full time or Fixed Term Part Time appointment(s) with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.*
The High Dependency Unit (HDU) provides clinical care for the highest acuity patients admitted to the hospital. That is HDU patients who have life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions such as multi-organ dysfunction. HDU patient management requires continuous monitoring, point of care diagnostics and complex supportive therapy.
The unit has two single rooms. One which is a negative pressure isolation room and the other a cardiac protected room. Also, there are four open bays. The unit is located adjacent to the Kalgoorlie Health Campus Emergency Department. The unit may be operated as a five or six bed unit depending on acuity, staffing and requirement. Opposite the HDU staff station are four open bay short stay beds, though these are not currently operational on an ongoing basis.
