Role duties & responsibilities: • Attending individual patients and assessing, advising and making legible records of the assessment and management of the patients. • Providing skilled health assessment and treatment by diagnosing patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses. • Ordering diagnostic tests and clinical examinations and conducting procedures in accordance with the practice’s procedure. • Interpreting findings to assist diagnosis followed by prescribing medications and administering treatments. Monitor progress and patients’ response to treatment. • Refer patients appropriately to specialist practitioners, organise hospital admissions, or refer them to other health providers. • Monitoring patient’s overall health by advising them on diet, exercise and treatment of disease and disorders. • Maintaining, recording, and exchanging medical information with other relevant providers. • Reporting births, deaths and notifiable diseases to the relevant government or agencies in accordance with the health policies. • Attending medical team meetings and actively participating in the review and development of the professional standards of the medical team. Requirements of the role • Must be a registered Medical Practitioner with the skills and qualifications acceptable to the applicable Medical Boards and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). • At least 5 years’ experience in general practice/general medicine. • Must hold the FRACGP certificate.
