We are looking for people to join the East Lochaber Community nursing team with previous community nursing experience. There will also be the opportunity to work across other community nursing teams in Lochaber.  The posts are for 37 hours per week which include weekends and on calls for palliative care as required.

Post registration experience is desirable.  You should have a sound knowledge of clinical skills relevant to community nursing.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are fundamental to the role, as is the ability to work both on your own initiative and as part of a team.   There will be an on call commitment as the service requires for palliative care.

A full current driving licence is also essential for this post as you will be expected to drive efficiently and effectively across Lochaber to meet the operational requirements of the service.  Whilst access to a pool car is available the use of your own car for work purposes is also an essential requirement of the post.

Consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work part time.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
