About the role

The position provides clinical leadership as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team, with a particular focus on mental health interventions to ensure consumers and their families attain optimal care relevant to their needs.

About you

In terms of technical knowledge, skills and experience, the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level contemporary knowledge, expertise and skill in the assessment and management of young people with complex, severe and enduring mental health disorders with an understanding of the complex impact of the disorder on the person and their family.
  • Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively using well developed oral and written communication skills to enable effective interaction with consumers, carers and other stakeholders in individual and group situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, and in the identification, development and implementation of research and/or quality and service improvement activities, including delivery of local clinical education programs in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical practice supervision to less experienced staff members and education to students.
  • The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Psychology.
  • The successful applicant must also hold full general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with AHPRA. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/ manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
  • Accreditation (or ability to readily obtain accreditation within 12 months) as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
