Band 7 Advanced Psychology Practitioner.

22.5 hours per week

We are pleased to be able to advertise this new post of Advanced Psychology Practitioner working within the Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Intervention service. Our service, made up of three Psychologists and a Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Midwife, launched in September 2022. We cover the Grampian area and are delighted to advertise this Elgin based post to support our aim to provide local service provision. As this post covers a wide geographical area a driving license and access to a car are essential.

We work with women and their families during maternity journey experiences, from conception through to a year post birth.  The post holder would provide highly specialist psychological interventions for parents who have experienced pregnancy and birth complications or loss; had previous pregnancy complications, loss or birth trauma affecting mental health in the current pregnancy; mild to moderate mental health disorders amenable to psychological therapies which directly effect maternity care and infants whose health is significantly compromised and require care in the Neonatal unit. Supervision structures are in place to support this highly specialist and emotive work and to promote professional reflection and growth.

As a new and developing service there are many opportunities for involvement in audit, research and service development activities.  There is also protected team time for CPD opportunities.

We encourage applications from individuals who have completed the 1 year MSc in Applied Psychology and who have previous post qualification experience working in adult and/or maternity settings.

We would welcome contact from potential applicants should you wish to discuss this post further. Please contact Dr Gillian Strachan, Consultant Clinical Psychologist on 01224 550888

Interview date scheduled for Thursday 9th May 2024
