Registered Veterinary Nurse

Our established and friendly practices in Abingdon and Oxford Botley Road are looking for an enthusiastic and professional RVN to join their multi-site team! You will have the opportunity to spend time at both practices, splitting your time between both sites.

You will be joining a team of 8 Vet Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Nurse and 1 VCA, a 2-colleague reception team, 1 Administrator, 1 Assistant Practice Manager and 1 Practice Manager who work closely together to provide a supportive environment for patients, clients, and colleagues alike.

Our JVP is Joe Binfield BVetMed PGCert (Small Animal Surgery) MRCVS, RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery GPAdvCertSAOS (Advanced Orthopaedic Surgery) with special interest in small animal orthopaedics and soft tissue surgery including cruciate, fracture repair, keyhole & airway surgery (BOAS) and Daniel Preece BSC (Hons) BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS recently passed post graduate BSAVA in small animal internal medicine clinical interest in intensive care, acute medicine and soft tissue surgery.

The practice is extremely well equipped with state-of-the-art equipment providing advanced orthopaedic and keyhole surgery. The team also see a wide variety of cases and have a growing number of insured clients allowing cases to be thoroughly investigated and worked up to a high standard.

The ideal candidate will be caring, resilient, pay attention to detail and have great communication skills. A strong level of general nursing is required and above all else, you will be passionate and dedicated to providing an outstanding service for our clients and their pets.


Responsibilities including:

  • Preparing animals for surgery and supporting in surgery
  • Administration of drugs, anaesthetic, and injections
  • Nurse clinics
  • X-rays
  • Inpatient care
  • Cleaning

This position is full time averaging 40 hours - You will be registered with the RCVS and competent in all general nursing.
