About you: 

You are motivated to work in Sexual Health and with our core client groups: men who have sex with men, sex workers, young people, those considering transitioning or who identify as transgender, Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders, women accessing service for termination of pregnancy, drug users and people living with blood borne viruses. You have well-developed skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and information databases and proven ability to work autonomously and act as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality services to clients.

Your opportunity: 

This position provides friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental, professional, and highly customer service focused clinical reception, telephone, and administrative services within the Sexual Health Service. Provide an efficient and accurate range of administrative support duties as part of a team within Sexual Health, including being responsible for providing professional and high-quality reception support.

Your role: 

  • Assist all staff in the work area and develop a highly compatible and supportive working team, whilst demonstrating effective communication skills, empathy, and understanding in a patient-focused environment.
  • Maintain electronic patient records in Communicare (RIVeR) and Hospital Based Corporate Information System (HBCIS), including the creation of new and the update of existing registrations daily.
  • Manage sessions as requested by clinical staff which includes creating, cancelling, and closing of appointments.
  • Answer queries and provide accurate information to patients, visitors, and staff accessing the unit in relation to Queensland Health policy and procedures.
  • Provide general administrative support including ordering of stationery, answering phone enquiries, photocopying, filing, faxing, and minute-taking as required, to enable health professional and medical staff to meet their objectives and deliver services to patients and colleagues.
