About you: 

You have extensive experience and knowledge of general office and reception duties, preferably within a Health Care environment, including the ability to coordinate bookings (clinical appointments, waiting list management, scheduling, and meeting outcome targets) and to ensure the delivery of a high quality of data accuracy in a changing environment, ability to interpret billing processes in a multidisciplinary service and experience in, or the ability to rapidly acquire, medical terminology and the typing of clinical documentation, preferably audio dictation.

Your opportunity: 

To manage patient referrals, clinic appointments, Cardiac Catheter Laboratory admissions and electronic waiting lists in accordance with Queensland Health Policies while maintaining a high level of customer service, demonstrating empathy, patience and understanding. To provide, develop and maintain an efficient, effective, and confidential administrative and clerical support service to the Cardiology Team.

Your role: 

  • The administrative Cardiology Team functions in a team environment of administrative officers and reports through the Administration Team Leaders to the Manager, Administration and Business Systems Improvement (MASBI and the Director of Integrated Medicine, Child, and Youth Services.
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy to achieve work targets with limited supervision and contribute to the team goals in a changing environment.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in undertaking various tasks whilst being responsible for the quality of work undertaken and ensuring work is completed within designated timeframes.
  • Build relationships with customers, using strong communication and negotiation skills to understand customers' needs and to deliver a service that meets their needs and the policy guidelines.
  • Respond to enquiries from internal and external clients, researching systems capabilities and determining if customers' requests can be met as well as ensuring confidentiality is maintained as per the Code of Conduct.
