Alberta Health Services (AHS) Stollery Children’s Hospital in partnership with The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, invitesapplicantstoapplyfora pediatricposition in Adolescent Medicine, within the Department of Child Health and the Division of General & Community Pediatrics.

Responsibilities:

This adolescent medicine position will provide service as follows:

·        Adolescent medicine outpatient clinics including gender affirming care and support to youth with chronic health conditions. 

·       Clinical Teaching Unit (CTU) coverage at the Stollery Children’s Hospital (Pediatric Hospital Medicine). 

The adolescent medicine position will provide service to adolescents with complex health and social issues. This position will be supported by experienced academic general pediatric colleagues, both ambulatory and in-hospital based. The Stollery Children's Hospital and the Department of Pediatrics have well established programs for adolescents and transition within subspecialty programs that can providesupport.

The full-time position will be approximately 70% clinical time and 30% academic time (negotiable) with the clinical time divided between the two areas listed above.

Interested applicants must hold an MD and must have completed a subspecialty residency in Pediatric Adolescent Medicine and be certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Adolescent Medicine Subspecialty). Successful candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Advanced training or experience in clinical research would be an asset.
