About the Opportunity
Patch Personnel have partnered with one of Australia’s leading specialist service providers to the energy & infrastructure sectors to source an experienced HSET Adviser working for the principal contractor on a long-term project with a global energy operator.
The HSET Advisor reports to the Project HSE Manager. The primary objective of the HSET Advisor is to carry out the requirements of the Project Safety Management Plan in the context of work activities and tasks.

Key Capabilities for the HSET Field Advisor include though are not limited to:
 

  • Promote HSE&T positively by mentoring and guiding on the application of the SMS across project and corporate teams including supporting the active management of sub-contractors in the field
  • Support field activities and supervision in providing advice in safety matters, and checking the application of risk controls in operation
  • Coordinate and manage HSET reporting requirements, scheduled and adhoc, in accordance with the requirements of client, Project and Group time frames on performance and trends
  • Manage specific Environmental requirements in accordance with Client Environmental Authorities
  • Participate in all field leadership activities and regularly contribute to pre-shift meetings and toolbox talks etc
  • Conduct investigations utilizing method and process, and provide information on incidents in report and presentation format.
  • Support the management of Training requirements and the currency of the Project Training Needs Assessment
  • Carry out and apply Risk Management practices in accordance with the Group requirements
  • Assist return to work for injured workers, liaising with Group Health and Injury Management Specialist.

About you

 
To be successful in this position you will have a formal qualification in OHS / WHS and be experienced working in a project based HSE position, this experience could be from junior to senior level with the emphasis on a character and practice that enhances the established team and culture.
You will have an unwavering commitment to the principals of behavioural safety. Your inquisitive nature and natural ability to coach and mentor will ensure you are able to understand the risks and needs of the operational crews and effectively lead a safety first culture.
Well developed interpersonal skills will ensure you a smooth transition into this position to build and maintain strong relationships with the field and client teams.
 
This position is engaged on a BIBO/FIFO rotation in Queensland. In return for your skill and expertise you will receive excellent salary packaging and allowance structure.
 
Current unrestricted Driver License and full right to work in Australia are essential to this position.
