Other trainees such as PalliativeCare and Rural Medicine have also been accommodated in the past.To be successful in this role you will have:Ideally some ICU experience or critical care exposureYou will have eligibility for general or provisional generalregistration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. We have a large multidisciplinary team of nurses,doctors and allied health professionals that form part of the Intensive Carewhanau.There is a range of critical care opportunitiesacross the region we have a range of exposure. Working in our region offers anexcellent opportunity for both fixed and rotary wing transfers, in addition toroad transfers.We provide supportive working conditions, at allhours, with a team committed to learning and professional development. Teachingis across a wide variety of domains in a multidisciplinary learning model. Weare moving towards also incorporating simulation training in a more prominentrole within our framework.We have supported CICM candidates through Part 1and Part 2 examinations as well as examinations in other disciplines. A numberof trainees have completed their CICM research project requirement during theirtime with us In addition, non-training registrars have competed researchprojects that have been published in peer reviewed journals.
