CLINICAL SERVICES LEAD (Advanced Practice Lead) REMOTE & RURAL SUPPORT TEAM

NHS Highland Rural Support Team (West)

Base Negotiable

Full time 37 hours per week 2 year Fixed Term Contract or Secondment considered

Are you looking for a challenge? Due to retirement our Remote & Rural Support Team is looking for a new lead! This is a team with an excellent reputation that needs someone to nurture and develop it, is that you?

The RST is a team of advanced practitioners with a mix of both nurses and paramedics working at the top of their professional competence covering remote and rural areas in West Highland. The team is primarily out of hours but does support in hours GP practices when required.

We are looking for an Advanced Practice Lead who is proactive and dynamic to guide the team to the next level. It is envisaged that the role will be 40% on the rota and 60% Clinical management, enabling you to maintain your own clinical skill set and provide support to the existing Advanced Practitioners and trainees. You will have the support of an operational district manager and admin who will deal with the day to day operational and financial management of the team leaving you free to focus on the clinical aspects of managing this highly experienced and well respected team.

As the Rural Support Team covers areas throughout West Highland (from Lochaber to Ullapool) you should be prepared to travel regularly and be aware that there may be periods away from home. This is a continually evolving, extremely autonomous and highly complex role requiring an individual who is looking to embrace challenge and drive change. You will require a high degree of flexibility and an ability to communicate effectively with the team, the wider MDT and stakeholders.

This is an exciting and dynamic role and there is still much to do, are you the right person to do it?

If so Informal enquires to:- Kate Earnshaw, District Manager – Projects

Please email [email protected] or call: 07748761870 to arrange an informal discussion about this opportunity.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay.  This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff.  This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours.  However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
