About the role

  • General Imaging Registrar is a twelve-month appointment for all aspects of Radiology including cardiac, thoracic, general medicine, surgical and paediatrics. The Registrar will be expected to participate in and assist consultants in the provision of Medical Imaging Services, teaching and research.
  • The Radiology Registrar Medical Imaging will provide a full range of high‑quality diagnostic imaging services to The Prince Charles Hospital including remote reporting for Metro North satellite facilities at Caboolture, Kallangur and Bribie Island. The Staff Specialist, Radiologist, Medical Imaging will assist the Director, share responsibility for the clinical quality, cost efficiency and effective delivery of medical imaging services in The Prince Charles Hospital.
  • The Medical Imaging Program of The Prince Charles Hospital provides a full range of medical imaging including digital radiography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, CT angiography, nuclear medicine and interventional radiology. The Department annually performs in excess of 120,000 examinations in a PACS/RIS environment (Inteleviewer/Karisma). Projected future development of the hospital will see a greater demand for subspecialty imaging in all areas including chest, cardiac, oncology, gastroenterology and paediatrics.
  • The department employs radiologists, radiographers, nuclear medicine technologists and physicians, nursing personnel, administrative staff and operational support personnel. Service is provided on a routine and an emergency basis, day and night.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of cardiothoracic and general imaging and associated safety risks and precautions.
  • Previous experience and/or willingness to undertake imaging research.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a medical imaging and multidisciplinary clinical team.
