The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Dental Officers to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Work autonomously and organise work priorities
  • Provide quality treatment in all areas of general dental clinical practice to eligible patients, ensuring they are treated with respect and receive appropriate services
  • Be competent in all areas of general dental clinical practice
  • Assist in ensuring the clinical dental service provided is financially viable and cost-effective
  • Liaise effectively to ensure appropriate referrals and consultations takes place within the Oral Health Services and external agencies

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Possession of a tertiary degree in Dentistry
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Recognition of qualifications to work as a Dental Officer via the Gold Coast Health Service District credentialing application process
  • Drivers Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary full time or temporary part time (one full time position or several part time positions, up to six months, with possibility of extension, min 45.6 hours per fortnight)
  • Base salary ranging from $4 755.90 - $5 563.40 per fortnight or $62.57 - $73.20 per hour

Oral Health Service provides quality clinical dental treatment to eligible patients within the community, via community dental clinics and via mobile services across Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. The Dentists will provide general dental care to those eligible patients from community dental clinics.
