The role:  
The Delivery Office require a Senior Project Officer to assist the project teams to manage Information Management and ICT projects, by ensuring successful completion within agreed performance criteria to enable enhanced service delivery.

In addition to this, you will be responsible for:

  • Promote and ensure use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
  • Manage, monitor and report on project related trends and performance against project plans and schedules.
  • Manage and monitor resources, expenses and capital costs against the project forecasts.
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between key internal and external stakeholders, facilitate effective communication channels to promote the successful adoption of change within the business, and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
  • Manage, monitor, and actively participate in the implementation of consistent working processes
  • Manage the definition, documentation and successful completion of a medium scale project in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies.

Are you right for this role?

  • Proven experience in a medium scale IM/ICT project management environment, preferably in the health care industry (SFIA Skill: PRMG: Level 5).
  • Proven ability to develop and manage one or more defined communication channels and/or stakeholder groups, and facilitate the business change decision-making processes, and the planning and implementation of change. (SFIA Skill: RLMT: Level 5).
  • Understanding of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to promote and provide advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools (SFIA Skill: METL: Level 5).
  • Proven effective negotiation, consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment. (NHS: Effective and strategic influencing).
  • Proven experience in leading, managing and mentoring a small to medium sized team. (NHS: Leading change through people).
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members. (NHS: Collaborative working).
  • Understanding of budget and schedule creation and monitoring in the project environment
