About the role 
Reporting to the Senior Director, Procurement and Contracts, this position will lead procurement delivery and contract teams within the Operations branch and provide practical guidance to delivery areas across HCD.

The Director, Procurement and Contracts leads multiple projects under broad direction from senior and executive leadership. 

The successful person
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
•    Specialist skills and experience in Procurement and/or Contracts delivery or Operations, ideally in a Construction, Capital and/or Health Environment.
•    Expertise and succinct advice relating to procurement and contracts.
•    Effective stakeholder and time management skills. 
•    Initiative and self-management to achieve and improve work program outcomes.
•    Effective leadership skills of various sized teams.
•    Comfortability working in a fast paced and evolving work environment.

The Procurement Strategy and Contract Branch for HCD is part of the Operations division. The branch consists of two streams, each headed by a Director. This Director role leads the ‘Delivery' arm, responsible for managing the procurement and contract processes and advice with the Delivery areas of HCD. The other arm is role is responsible for the ‘Policy' or strategy arm of the Branch and takes leadership over ensuring procurement processes are in line with best practice.
