The Registrar/Principal House Officer will provide services in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department of Emergency Medicine, the Health Service and Queensland Health.

Special interest opportunities exist for trainees to engage specialties including;

  • Internationally recognised Geriatric Emergency Department initiative
  • Residential Aged Care Support Service (RASS)
  • ICU and Anaesthetics
  • LifeFlight
  • Ultrasound Registrar and Simulation Registrar  

We offer protected teaching time to attend our dedicated Trainee program, catering to trainees of all stages of ACEM training. Exam specific education sessions to help trainees prepare for their exams, including Mock exam opportunities.

The SCHHS provides healthcare to a rapidly growing population. There has been significant investment in services over the past few years, in particular the establishment of the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the Nambour General Hospital redevelopment. The SCHHS also delivers services through hospitals in Gympie, Caloundra and Maleny. In addition, the SCHHS operates a residential aged care facility in Nambour and provides community health services and community mental health services through a range of stand-alone facilities located across the Sunshine Coast region.
 
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain up to date skills in Emergency Medicine.
  • Provide high quality, safe medical care and advice to patients presenting to the departments of Emergency Medicine.
  • Participate in the training of junior medical staff.

Salary between $4822.20 - $5591.00 p.f. (f/t) or salary rates:  $78.04 - $90.48 p.h. (casual)  employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (f/t) (L4 - L9) (Fixed term temporary full-time positions, 76 hrs p.f. + casual positions, non-standard hours) until February 2025.
