About your opportunity:

The Medical Service Group within Townsville University Hospital is seeking a Staff Specialist or Visiting Staff Specialist (Dermatology) to join their team on a permanent part-time basis, working 26 hours per fortnight.

This position provides a unique opportunity for a visiting Staff Specialist to join the dermatology team at Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) and help provide specialist services to our community.

For the successful candidate, you will primarily work in an outpatient setting, caring for patients with skin disease of varying levels of complexity, as well as performing a range of dermatologic procedures.

A key feature of this position will be to oversee the clinical work of doctors-in-training, and to contribute to their education and training. In addition, the successful candidate will be supported to develop specialist clinical services that help build the service as centre of excellence in Dermatologic Medicine.

Generous remuneration package comprising:

  • Salary range of $97.84 to $124.05 p.h. (L18 - L27) or $187.68 to $223.05 p.h. (VS01 - VSS)
  • Annual leave with relevant leave loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to commencement of clinical duties.
  • Must have Registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner in Australia and Fellowship with The Royal Australasian College of Dermatologist.
  • Travel: This position may require the incumbent to work at other facilities within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
