Role responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a high level of knowledge, skills, problem solving and experience in complex clinical hospital pharmacy practice.
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with statutory regulations, national standards of practice, governing professional organisations, and local procedures and work practices.
  • Work professionally and collaboratively with clinical trials study co-ordinators, investigators, clinical research associates and sponsors, multidisciplinary health professionals, key stakeholders, and patients.
  • Provide high level authoritative advice and information based on advanced knowledge of ethical and regulatory guidelines required for the provision of an investigational drugs service, including knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP), ICH standards, Document of Helsinki and National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research.
  • Provision of operational and clinical services for all investigational drugs and clinical trials, including patient counselling, drug receipt, manufacturing, drug accountability and inventory management, monitoring of storage conditions for drug stock and ensuring security of access to clinical trial documentation and investigational products.
  • Active participation in relevant committees and communication of information to key stakeholders.

Generous remuneration package value up to $152,775 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $4769.60 - $5132.40 p.f. (HP4)

Role requirements  

  • Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognised tertiary institution (or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • A health-related post-graduate qualification and/or current GCP certificate are desirable.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of clinical trials and practical applications of clinical trials in a hospital inpatient and outpatient environment
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary pharmacy and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards.
  • Proficient communication, interpersonal, and time management skills evidenced by effectively prioritising workload and provision of service to patients, carers, health professionals, and key stakeholders.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior management to ensure effective cooperation within and across work unit/s to enhance service delivery and quality of outcomes
  • Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position.
  • Ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development of self and others.
