About the role

Permanent part time opportunity to be accountable at an advanced practice level, for the coordination of human and/or material resources, and to support effective business practices for Cancer Care Services. The role ensures timely and efficient flow of patients across Cancer Care Services, and the management of the service line staffing requirements. The Bed Manager is responsible for the management of information systems and data relating to patient flow and quality improvement strategies in service delivery.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Accountable for promoting effective and cost-efficient management of hospital resources and services in collaboration with the Assistant Nursing Director and Nursing Director, Cancer Care Services.
  • Support the application and evaluation of contemporary human resource, material and financial management principles, including the Business Planning Framework and Nurses and Midwives Award provisions.
  • Use contemporary information, research evidence, personal knowledge and experience to support decision making.
  • Support the Assistant Nursing Director and Nursing Director by identifying opportunities to improve resource use, and work in collaboration with the interprofessional team to implement changes.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and others to create a positive practice environment that achieves best practice outcomes for recipients of healthcare services.
