About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Deliver routine dental hygiene clinical services and case management within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with well-established clinical protocols.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of disease processes, expertise and skill in the provision of quality dental hygiene services, oral health education and oral health promotion with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively prioritise and manage time and workload commitments to meet patient and service expectations, including the ability to operate as a recognised reference point and provide guidance to less experienced team members.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will contribute to the provision of a high standard of oral health care to all eligible clients of the Cairns and Hinterland Oral Health Services through the delivery of dental hygiene services working within a multidisciplinary team.

About your role:

  • Deliver routine dental hygiene services and oral health promotion to clients in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within a hospital, fixed or mobile oral health clinic, or a community outreach setting.
  • Continually develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities relating to clinical practice in general oral health care, oral health education and health promotion.
  • Maintain effective and consultative relationships, collaborating with oral health teams, patients, their families, carers and other relevant stakeholders to provide high quality patient care and enhance oral health outcomes.
