About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead activities required as part of contribution towards the Nursing and Midwifery Professional Practice Model (PPM).
  • Demonstrate ability with decision making and problem solving in relation to, but not limited to collaboration, negotiation and patient care planning and relevant to the care of consumer/person within the Emergency Department.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will provide a comprehensive, holistic nursing service to patients in the Innisfail Hospital Emergency Department.
The Registered Nurse demonstrates nursing competence in the provision of nursing care across all areas of emergency department nursing including triage and assessment; resuscitation bays and; assessment and treatment bays. The Registered Nurse undertakes delegated activities while assuming individual accountability for actions within the position and context of practice.

About your role:

  • Responsible and accountable for supervision and the delegation of nursing activity to EN's and others.
  • Accountable for the planning, provision and communication of nursing care to an allocated group of clients, including the evaluation and required revision of practice based on agreed priorities, goals, plans and outcomes.
  • Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the patient using comprehensive nursing assessment and intervention skills.
