The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior (Multicultural Mental Health Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver high level clinical consultation for consumers from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds including assessment, diagnosis and input into treatment planning, promoting application of evidence-based care
- Provide input into care review discussions on issues relating to culturally appropriate assessment and care of consumers
- Provide clinical liaison, consultation and intervention for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse consumers their family and carers with complex care needs
- Work in collaboration with relevant staff in the development and implementation of plans, policies and procedures for the delivery of culturally responsive mental health care.
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist and Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Driver Licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $128 701 - $139 732 per annum

The Multicultural Mental Health Coordinator, Gold Coast Mental Health and Specialist Services focus on building the cultural competency of Mental Health Services to respond to the clinical needs of people from a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds. This is achieved through clinical consultation and liaison with clinicians within the service, education and training, service development, promotion and prevention activities.
