About the role
The Fellowship in Echocardiography provides for sub-specialty training in advanced echocardiographic techniques such as 3D Transthoracic and Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, Intraoperative Echocardiography, Intracardiac Echocardiography and Tissue Doppler Imaging. A suitable candidate for this position will have completed or be in the process of completing advanced training in Cardiology including echocardiography as per the training guidelines of the RACP. The Fellow provides medical services to all patients presenting to the hospital, both inpatient and outpatient services within the designated unit of the Department of Cardiology. On request, the Fellow should provide a consultative service to other departments. It is expected that the Fellow will be involved in the professional development of junior medical staff, and in the education of medical students.
This position is to provide a high-quality service within the Health Service District and to participate, if requested, in the provision of services in Clinical Service Networks in Queensland Health, including the Indigenous Cardiac Outreach Program.
