The Facility
Our client is a major regional hospital and having undergone a significant redevelopment in recent years, it provides state-of-the-art facilities. The redevelopment delivered new beds, improved services in the rehabilitation unit, as well as a new 24-hour emergency department, maternity unit and special care nursery. Services available include intensive care, coronary care, obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, emergency medicine, pharmacy, medical imaging, pathology and comprehensive mental health services. Allied Health services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech therapy, psychology and social work.
The Location
Based on Queensland’s tropical coastline this regional city has an enviable year-round climate. It boasts beautiful beaches, a scenic hinterland, national parks, education and tourism facilities including a Turtle rookery, historical buildings and has a well developed modern infrastructure and facilities with excellent schooling opportunities. Indulge in the region’s fresh local produce, seafood and iconic drinks.
Within a 45 minute flight to Brisbane you will have easy access to a state capital and international airport. Alternatively there is also a domestic airport located 6km from the CBD which provides easy access to the domestic international airlines networks. The city and surrounding region offers a rich experience for those who enjoy the arts. With over 50 arts, crafts, historical and cultural organisations and facilities, the region is fast becoming one of the most dynamic regions in Queensland.
The Position
Your role will be to work as an ED Registrar/PHO within an emergency department that is the main referral hospital for the region. The Hospital is accredited for training with ACEM for 12 months and provides a 24-hour Emergency Department.
The Requirements
AHPRA registered doctors or eligible to obtain
IMGs with relevant Emergency experience (AMC MCQ - Standard Pathway, Competent Authority or Short Term Training Pathway)
ED overseas Specialists assessed by ACEM as Partially or Substantially Comparable.
